"Water & Irrigated Agriculture: The Past, Present and Future"

December 2, 2010

On December 2, 2010, the Council on Food, Agricultural, and Resource Economics (C-FARE), USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Farm Foundation NFP sponsored a webinar discussing the environmental and social tradeoffs associated with the issues surrounding water.

Water is a precious commodity worldwide, and water supply demands continue to increase across the country. Because water resources are an important issue to the entire country, it receives much attention on how to be best managed. This 90 minute webinar will examine the policy discussions surrounding water, with an emphasis on surface water issues and management. The webinar complements the Fall 2010 issue of the AAEA Science Policy Magazine Choices. Speakers also identified research that can help guide future water management issues.
